The SPC has placed all of western New Jersey is the slight risk of storms today

With the heat and humidity as well as some lift in the atmosphere comes the chance for some severe weather today. As of right now the best chances for this to happen will be in the evening.

Will this be a no show like last time? It could be. I’ll keep an eye on this today and update as I can.

Areas just to the south of us had some beneficial thunderstorms early this morning.

temperatures and high humidity is expected. This combination will
create a dangerous situation in which heat related illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids...stay in an air-conditioned
environment if possible...stay out of the sun...and check on
elderly relatives and neighbors. Keep pets in a cool location

First heatwave of Summer 2016 will commence today. We will have at least three days of high temperatures at or above 90. To make it truly summer-like we will have healthy dose of humidity thrown in for good measure. That is one thing that has thankfully been somewhat reasonable this warm weather season so far. When it’s been warm the humidity has been reasonable.

Along with the heat and humidity will be summertime chances of late day thundershowers. I expect them to be quite isolated today but more numerous on Thursday and almost likely on Friday.

7day

And for those sensitive Wednesday will feature a code Orange air quality alert for western new jersey. This mean air pollution concentrations may become unhealthy for those sensitive.
