But like we’ve been seeing a lot lately, we have extremes
We have a drought watch for central and eastern sections of western New Jersey. For all practical purposes it applies for all of the area as it has been bone dry. Last measurable rain was back on the 12th!
As it stands now we have 2 solid chances of rain this week. The first will be Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning. This will be from a cold front approaching from the west that will push out the unseasonable warm and humid weather we now have. This will also pull up some of the remaining moisture from the system that’s been to our south for a while. I’m thinking 1″ from this system.
The second chance will be later in the week into Saturday. The cold front that will pass above will stall to our south. Current thinking is tropical depression 11 which is over the SW Atlantic ocean, will get pulled up into this along with some other moisture to our SW. If this all plays out perfectly, we could see a high amount of rain and even gusty winds. Of course this remains to be seen. But we certainly need the rain. The second system has the potential to deposit several inches of rain.
