There’s a lull in the rain right now but a fast moving line of gusty winds and heavy rain is approaching the area. There could even be a rumble or two of thunder. This should arrive in the next hour
A fast moving cold front will visit western New Jersey this afternoon on Earth Day 2015 and give all areas strong gusty winds and even potential for thunderstorms with small hail in some areas. The National Weather Service has issues a special weather statement about the potential. The active period as of right now looks to be early afternoon. Showers could last until late afternoon or early evening.
What we will notice after the cold front passes is a return to colder than normal temperatures into the weekend. Day time highs will be in the 50’s with breezy conditions that will make it feel cooler.
