Back to work means back to clouds and damp weather. There will be several rounds of rain this week. temperatures will start off above normal but the week will finish off with very cold temperatures – especially compared to what everyone is used to.

Wednesday evening’s precipitation could start off as a little light snow or sleet in northern sections that are normally colder but will change over to rain in all locations.

Saturday morning low-temperature forecast

Friday and Saturday our high temperature will struggle to get to the freezing mark and Saturday morning lows will be in the low teens with some single digits possible in normally colder locations. Certainly, this is noting uncommon in a typical winter but for us this year this will feel like Winter.

8-14 day temperature outlook

If you don’t enjoy the late week cold, don’t worry you won’t have to put up with it too long. The 8-14 day temperature outlook goes above normal for us taking us nearly to the end of the month. Longer-term outlooks continue the above normal temperature trend. Could the groundhog be right for once?

NWS 5 day forecast

Stewartsville received nearly 1″ of rain in the past 24 hours. I could hear the rain falling at times last night while sleeping.

Unfortunately more of the same is in store this week. While it won’t be raining the whole entire time, we will be receiving more rain.

If you’re not a fan of the cool weather we received over the weekend, things will be warming up. The unseasonably cool 50’s we felt on Sunday will be replaced with 60’s today. Upper 70’s to near 80 will be in store Tuesday and beyond.

Hurricane Florence 5 day NHC forecast

As forecast, hurricane Florence regained hurricane status overnight and strengthened. The hurricane will be moving over very favorable conditions today and tomorrow and there’s little reason to think it will not become a major hurricane.

the National Hurricane Center (NHC) shows its 5 day forecast above. Don’t just focus on the center of the storm. The right side of where Florence hits will receive lots of rain, inland too.

Any remnants of Florence should’t reach our area until, wait for it, the weekend.
