Maximum wind gust so far in N NJ as of 8am.

Good windy Monday morning. Hope everyone still has their power even though the wind is causing power outages across the area. Stewartsville recorded a wind gust to 54 mph so far.

Believe it or not the wind may actually get stronger this morning. Once the sun comes up and warms up the air, it will cause more mixing of the air. This could cause the higher winds above us to mix down to the surface.

There could even be some flurries or snow showers with some of these so don’t be surprised if you see some. They should be short lived and only coat the ground if that – mainly to the north.

7 Day NWS forecast

The wind will die down a little bit tonight but won’t really go away until later Tuesday. Temperatures will remain below normal all week with a chance of some light snow or mix Wednesday night and Friday.

I certainly don’t have to tell anyone in western New Jersey that it’s windy out overnight and this morning. Stewartsville had a wind gust to 46 mph so far.

The winds should taper down a little after 10 am.
