Phil Saw His Shadow

Phil Saw His Shadow

The famous groundhog in western PA saw his shadow (it was cloudy out – must have been the TV lights) so according to his folklore, 6 more weeks of winter. Of course if you look at the calendar, it’s 6 more weeks until Spring arrives anyway!

A coating to perhaps a little more of snow was deposited in western New Jersey overnight and early this morning as the rain changed to snow. 0.2″ was recorded in Stewartsville as forecast.

Today will remain a very cold day with brisk winds and steady or falling temperatures in the 20’s. Tonight we will dip down to the upper single digits. Saturday will feel a little bit warmer as the wind won’t be quite as strong.

Weather for Super Sunday continues to look like snow to rain across the area. The system will be a fast mover and could be over before the game ends! Early looks on snow amounts before the changeover are another coating to perhaps an inch or two. Greatest amounts of snow will be north and west where the cold air hangs in the longest. The Poconos look to changeover to rain as well at some point on Sunday. More details as we get closer.

well the little fella in PA did see his shadow. How that can happen on a cloudy day is beyond me (TV lights?!). But as you can see in the graphic above compiled by the NWS, he’s skills are not the best.
