No I’m not going to start singing a number from Les Miz. Just one more day of the uncomfortable hot and humid weather. Stewartsville did reach 96 degrees yesterday. Many areas reached the mid and upper 90’s in western New Jersey yesterday as well. A few areas received a pop-up thundershower yesterday that perhaps provided a brief break in the weather.

Today will be rinse and repeat complete with the sweat and swelter. There could be a few more pop-up showers and thundershowers later this afternoon and evening. I don’t expect these to be widespread but there should be a few more. there could even be some late this evening as well.

When the cooler weather arrives on Monday it will be accompanied by increase chances for rain and thundershowers. There’s enough of a chance for this that the NWS has issued a Flash Flood Watch for our area.

I expect the first round of showers and perhaps thundershowers mid to late morning into the early afternoon. Then there will be a break until more arrive mid to late afternoon into the evening.

It looks like the front that will be responsible for the cooler weather will be slow to move through our area late Monday into Tuesday morning. A weak low pressure area could form along the front and prolong the chances for rain into Tuesday.

Fear not by later Tuesday lower humidity will arrive along with the more comfortable temperatures. This delightful weather should last the rest of the week!
