96 was the high temperature in Stewartsville over the weekend. Combine that with a 90+ high on Friday and we have another heat wave in the books for Summer of 2019.

Some scattered thunderstorms helped bring an end to the heat last evening. Stewartsville recorded 0.23″ of rain. Other locations received more and some less. there were some scattered reports of power outages and trees down as well.

Speaking of severe weather today we have a better chance of seeing some. The SPC has placed out entire area in a slight risk for seeing some severe weather. Most likely to see downpours and gusty winds. Best time frame is mid afternoon into this evening.

We remain under a Flash Flood Watch into Tuesday. The map above shows that we have a moderate risk of seeing some flash flooding in our entire area with today’s forecast of storms and potential heavy rain showers.

Once we get through the rain later today, tonight and early on Tuesday, we will be rewarded with some lower humidity and delightful mid-summer weather for the remainder of the week!
