The latest radar shows the heavy rains over Harrisburg, PA and heading this way.
The arrival in our area will be from 9 pm in eastern PA to 1 am in eastern sections of New Jersey
Besides heavy rains, there will be strong wind gusts which may cause power outages and other damages

The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
Delaware
Eastern Maryland
New Jersey
Southeast New York
Eastern Pennsylvania
Coastal Waters
* Effective this Thursday night and Friday morning from 755 PM
until 100 AM EDT.
* Primary threats include...
Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible
A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Fast-moving/accelerating bands of showers/thunderstorms
will continue to move northeastward across the region this evening.
Winds through a deep layer are very strong and, in spite of weak
instability, will be conducive to strong/near-severe wind gusts
capable of damage. A brief tornado cannot be entirely ruled out.
The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40
statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles north northwest
of Newark NJ to 35 miles southwest of Dover DE. For a complete

REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
tornadoes.
