There are two areas in the tropics that need watching. the first is investigation 95L as it’s called. The NHC gives this a 60% chance of development in the next 5 days. It will, unfortunately, impact the Bahamas with rain and wind it doesn’t need. Right now it doesn’t look like anything intense. Let’s hope it stays that way.

The second area is further to the east. The high-pressure system to the north will steer it near the same path that Dorian took. This needs to be monitored. A couple of long-range computer models do develop this into a tropical system.

11. September 2019 · Comments Off on Scattered Showers And Storms Possible Rest of Today · Categories: thunderstorms, weather discussion

Stewartsville has a high temperature so far of 89 today. Some sports have already reached 90.

The SPC has placed our area in a marginal risk for severe weather. It should be spotty.

Radar just after 4 pm shows some showers and thundershowers starting to develop in EPA – look for them to continue and expand a bit as they head to the east.

For areas that do receive some rain over the next 24 hours could receive 1/2 to 1″ of rain. It has been dry lately so a little rain would be nice.

04. September 2019 · Comments Off on Warm and Humid Today with Shower and Thundershowers Possible · Categories: thunderstorms

If you haven’t stepped outside yet today you’ll notice the return of humid and warm weather. Luckily it’s only for one day. The SPC has placed most of our area (northern sections) in a slight risk of severe weather. If we get any (most will be further north) it should be in the 3-6 pm time frame

As of 11:30 am the threat is to our north but we’ll keep an eye on the situation.

Most of the activity is to our north for now but some are expected to drop down into our area this afternoon.

Unless you get a heavier shower or thundershower, we are only looking for around 1/10″ of rain.

This will be our last day with temperatures in the 80’s (for the season?). Cooler weather with temperatures in the 70’s tomorrow and the rest of the week into the weekend.
