Changes today now have the forecast path of the hurricane remaining over the east coast of FL instead of moving inland more in previous forecasts. While this will still bring hurricane conditions to a large part of Florida, it certainly better than a major hurricane moving inland and then turning up the peninsula and slowly weakening.

Stay tuned for updates and let’s hope this trend continues and Dorian remains offshore and away.

As of right now, Orlando International airport announced they will close at 2 am on Monday. Disney and all the theme parks are monitoring the storm.

Dorian is almost at hurricane strength as of 11 am this morning. The storm continues to move more northerly than anticipated. This trend should stop in the days ahead as a high-pressure system (the one that will push into our area tomorrow) will be to the north and act as a traffic cop. All interest along the southeast coast and Florida should monitor the storm and start the storm kits.

Obviously out of area but wanted to post since it’s the potentially first system of interest that may impact the US in the long range.
