Radar is showing the line of showers and thunderstorms to our west. The line is moving to the east with the cells moving SW to NE.

I appears 5-7 pm will be an active time for western NJ.

There is a tornado watch for parts of PA and severe thunderstorm watch to our south.

Keep an eye to the sky.

SPC has SW parts of the area in marginal risk of severe weather

Our Friday trend hasn’t been too great for the last 2 months. Measurable rain on 9 of them. Today will continue the streak.

There have already been a few rumbles of thunder this morning. Look for this to continue on an off today. The strongest storms looks to occur in the 3 – 6 pm timeframe and could cause havoc with the evening commute.

Our weather will clear out for Saturday but it will be much cooler and windy. Look for highs near 60 with a stiff NW wind gusting into the 30’s at times.

We’ll continue our parade of fast moving weather systems with the next one arriving on Sunday. The cool weather will remain so there could even be some mixed precipitation in the northern area.

…FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING…

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of New Jersey and Pennsylvania,
including the following areas, in New Jersey, Hunterdon and
Warren. In Pennsylvania, Berks, Carbon, Delaware, Eastern
Chester, Eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, Lower Bucks, Monroe,
Northampton, Philadelphia, Upper Bucks, Western Chester, and
Western Montgomery.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday morning

* Showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy, will move across
eastern Pennsylvania and far western New Jersey Friday
afternoon. A brief break in precipitation is expected Friday
evening before a second cluster of showers and thunderstorms
moves across the region late Friday night into early Saturday
morning. Pockets of one to two inches of rain can be expected
with amounts up to three inches.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Flash Flood Watch means that there is the potential for flash
flooding which can be life-threatening. Heavy rain is expected to
occur over a short period of time. Rapidly rising flood waters
may quickly inundate roadways and areas of poor drainage. Streams
and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties.

Please monitor the forecast, especially if you live in a location
that is prone to flooding. Be prepared to take action if a flash
flood warning is issued for your area.
